How is PGNiG maximising the shale gas opportunity in Poland?

The new shale gas law is coming into play in Poland very soon which will detail how the government intends to maximise the shale gas opportunity in Europe, and the state operator PGNiG’s will play a major role.

Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, the new CEO and President of the Management Board, PGNiG has a number of questions to consider. Firstly, what are the latest drilling results telling us? And how should that impact PGNiG’s strategy? What strategic partnerships and alliances should she pursue? Will it be economic to extract the shale gas?

Everyone in Poland wants to know what PGNiG intends to do, how it intends to do it and whether or not it will result in the shale gas boom so many people have been predicting. Ms. Piotrowska has a limited window in which to convince stakeholders PGNiG will succeed. Let’s hope for Poland’s sake she does.
