1) How the government will maximise the Shale Gas & Shale Oil opportunity in Argentina, including:
- Creating a stable, attractive environment to attract investors and capital to develop shale gas resources
- What new changes to the oil and gas pricing regime are being planned?
- Creating a royalty and regulatory regime that incentivises production while benefiting the national interest
- How to regulate levels of investment and capital expenditure to ensure that gas is delivered in sufficient quantities to meet the national need
2) How to make shale gas E&P in Argentina economically or commercially viable, including
- Is shale gas in Argentina economically viable?
- Clarity on fiscal regime
- Determining reserve calculations and production viability
- How to work with service and equipment providers to ensure critical infrastructure and water needs are met
- How to minimise costs and maximise the value of drilling and completions
3) How can operators, service providers, drilling contractors overcome the challenges of infrastructure and supply chain management
- What does Argentina need to build in order to make its shale industry profitable?
- How to create effective operator / OSC partnerships in order to overcome the particular logistics challenges to fracking in the Neuquén
- How will operators, service providers and drilling contractors tackle the lack of rig availability and the commitment to the necessary investment
4) How to ensure effective water sourcing, treatment and disposal, including
- Transporting water – are the supplies & infrastructure there?
- New solutions in treatment of flow back fluid
- Developing solutions for water sourcing and storage
- How to ensure effective water treatment plans
- Ensuring an effective drainage design is in place to minimize water contamination
- Developing reutilization solutions
