Helge Lund, President and CEO, Statoil won the 2012 National Oil Companies Executive of the Year Award. The awards are presented during the World National Oil Companies Congress.
Mr John Knight, EVP for Global Strategy and Business Development at Statoil accepted the award on behalf of Mr Lund.
The Awards
In the production, research and development of the World National Oil Companies Congress, we have the privilege and honour to speak to some of the greatest minds and most respected professionals in the oil industry. It soon becomes apparent after speaking to such people, that there are certain individuals in the industry whose achievements, efforts and characters shine brighter than those of their peers, and whose contribution to furthering industry goals is truly exemplary. The World NOC Awards was created to recognise such individuals.
Judging process
Anyone could make a nomination, criteria being that nominees were a C-level executive working for or as a partner of National Oil Companies. The World National Oil Companies Congress consulted with a number of highly esteemed and reputable independent executives within the industry to whittle nominations down to a shortlist of executives. Finally scores were submitted by each independent judge, the scores tallied up and the entry with the highest aggregate score is named the winner.
