New dedicated In-Situ Combustion Site

EOR and Heavy Oil World MENA 2012 speaker Alex Turta has set up a new website dedicated entirely to the use and development of In-Situ Combustion (ISC).

ISC is one of the most widespread methods used in heavy oil reservoirs and through this site Turta aims to provide clear ISC related knowledge, from basics to the latest advancements in the field.

Alex Turta is a Reservoir Engineer working as a Research Engineer at Alberta Innovates Technology Futures in Canada. He has a PHD in Oil Recovery by ISC with an in-depth specialization in ISC applications. He has served as an ISC consultant in North and South America, Europe and Asia.  He has also been engaged in assignments from the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programs (UNDP).  All in all, he has been involved in 6 commercial ISC operations and 12 ISC pilots, worldwide. He has held courses on heavy oil recovery by ISC in Canada, Romania, Brazil, Malaysia and Japan.
