Demographic Republic of Timor Leste, which boasts a population of 1.1 million and an area of 5641sq miles, is located in the petroliferous zone. It has mature and new frontier areas which are of a competitive fiscal regime in the region. Enough research has been carried out in the region to show that it is ready for deepwater exploration to be carried out.

Mateus da Costa, Director – Exploration & Acreage Release, National Petroleum Authority, Timor Leste presented an update on the prospects ready for development in Timor-Leste, coupled with an overview of the assessment of the regulatory environment that enables it to work in tandem with new venture owners. Also explained is overcoming commercial, political and economic risks of developing deepwater blocks.
