Australia set to be the largest #LNG exporter in the world

LNGIt is estimated that in the coming decade Australia will surpass Qatar as the worlds largest exporter of LNG, beyond 80 million tonnes of LNG is likely to be exported by 2020.

LNG expansion in Australia has only really taken off this decade, with major investment from super major producers such as Chevron Corp in the Gorgon project and Woodside in a number of projects, including the recently up and running Pluto.

While labour and overhead cost blowouts lurk on the horizon, global demand for LNG is all but certain; LNG export deals are tied up with Japan, South Korea and China for the next 10-15 years.

Global leaders from GDF Suez, Shell, Total & Inpex will converge on LNG Outlook 2012, in Perth in November to discuss key issues and major projects in the region.
