Fire breakout in #petrochemical #refinery in #Taiwan costs millions of dollars
There was a fire breakout at an ageing petrochemical factory in Greater Kaohsiung on Friday, 6th of April 2012. The fire was caused by a fractured pipe in the factory’s distillation tower.
This plant operated by state-run oil refiner CPC Corp, Taiwan is estimated to lose around US$1.69 million in damages, coupled with a fine slapped by the Greater Kaohsiung Bureau of Environmental Protection for air pollution.
