New Zealand #shale gas potential

Shale World Australia, New Zealand, shale gas New Zealand explorer L&M Energy believes South Island shale gas has significant potential.

Energy News Premium reported that Kent Anson, L&M Energy Managing Director, said shale gas plays in the South Island of NZ could contain more than 5 trillion cubic feet of gas.

The Southland shale gas has properties comparable with plays such as United States Marcellus and Barnett – thick, organically rich, mature and good gas content.

L&M Energy have been focused on CSG in the area, but aim to grow both their CSG and shale exploration potential.

Shale World Australia 2012 and Coal Seam Methane World 2012 will be co-located, bringing together a wide range of producers and explorers.
