New Zealand #shale gas potential
New Zealand explorer L&M Energy believes South Island shale gas has significant potential.
Energy News Premium reported that Kent Anson, L&M Energy Managing Director, said shale gas plays in the South Island of NZ could contain more than 5 trillion cubic feet of gas.
The Southland shale gas has properties comparable with plays such as United States Marcellus and Barnett ‚Äď thick, organically rich, mature and good gas content.
L&M Energy have been focused on CSG in the area, but aim to grow both their CSG and shale exploration potential.
