National oil companies look to #Statoil for Deepwater expertise

statoil, national oil companies, deepwater oil National oil companies, such as China’s Sinopec and Mexico’s Pemex,  are looking to Statoil to provide them with knowledge and expertise on deepwater drilling and exploration. Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon, recently announced Mexico’s Pemex was in talks with the Norwegian giant, and Statoil indicated a few months ago they were in negotiations with Sinopec over a potential deepwater deal.

 

After the failed collaboration with India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) last summer, the success of these partnerships are even more critical to Statoil, who are looking to leverage their strength in knowledge and technical expertise in deepwater drilling to grow their E&P business.
