Pertamina, CNOOC and Asian NOCs in search of new E&P opportunities
Indonesian company Pertamina will spend $1 billion on new exploration acreage this year to boost declining national production (see the upstream online article on this here).
They will not be the only National Oil Company looking to boost output, as the Chinese and Indian NOCs in particular are also exploring new acreage positions.
The implications of this drive are enormous – both in the world of capital raising and M&A, but also in the world of politics. What will the thirst for oil by Asian NOCs mean for IOCs and other NOCs? How is the financial community responding to the challenges of capital raising, project finance and M&A? How will the dynamics of the oil & gas sector evolve? Who will emerge as winners and losers?
These questions and more will be explored at the forthcoming World NOC Congress in June, where you will also be able to hear the CEO of CNOOC, Mr. Yang Hua and the CEO of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan outline the international investment plans.
