Chicago based XR Trading looks to use laser technology to improve latency

 

HFT proprietary market-making firm, XR Trading, has plans to stay ahead in the race to zero by implementing  laser technology.

From yesterday’s Wall Street Journal article which can be found here, “One firm that plans to use the system is XR Trading LLC of Chicago. It is a “very compelling technology,” said XR’s president, Matthew Haraburda. He said if it behaves as intended, it could be “a huge development” in trading technology.”

XR Trading’s President, Matt Haraburda will also be sharing his expertise on a panel at the Trading Show Chicago 2014, taking place June 4th and 5th at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

Matt’s panel will be held on the second day of the event at 11am and is titled “Innovations in network and connectivity bandwidth, data rates, and proprietary needs”. Click here for more information.
