Exchange Technology World Panel discussion: Partnerships vs. mergers – who you should team up with and how

Panelists representing Colombia, Prague, and Ghana exchanges discussed the initiatives in their respective areas where exchanges are coming together and integrating with one another in regional blocks.

Expanding the reach of market participants by combining exchanges and gaining access to liquidity in multiple geographies helps to encourage more local issues and higher participation rates.

The question of designing attractive products for the newly brought together regional blocks and global participants was considered as exchange groups collaborate on creating indices and ETFs. Challenging and breaking the issue of home bias in creating these multiple exchange collaborations was discussed.
