Keppel Land bullish about Indonesia property scene

funky buildingsKeppel Land plans to develop more residential and commercial properties in Indonesia – where a resilient economy, rising foreign direct investment (FDI) and declining interest rates have helped to buoy demand for homes, and office and retail space.

In an e-mail interview with BT as the group marked the start of work for an office tower in Indonesia, Tan Swee Yiow, Keppel Land president of Singapore commercial and head of regional investments, said that the developer is looking at a number of sites for residential developments in the country.

"We are currently exploring a number of projects," said Mr Tan. These will probably be landed housing developments or high-rise condominiums targeted at the middle to high-end market.

"Our focus in the residential segment will be on landed housing developments in the Greater Jakarta region as well as high-rise condominium properties within or at the fringe of Jakarta’s CBD (central business district)."
