#Guangzhou Knowledge City attracts strong international interest
Ten agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) have been signed by international investors targeting developments in the #Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (GKC).
GKC, Singapore’s third major joint-venture with China, is drawing keen interest from various developers and investors from around the globe. To date, 10 agreements and MOUs have been signed for the development of various facilities within the 123 sq km industrial park, representing projects with a combined worth of tens of millions.
Among the projects committed is an energy-efficient hospital by electronics giant Siemens, while New Zealand’s Huhu Studios will be developing a movie production studio and training centre within the GKC. In addition, Swiss company AGT International has also signed on to install sensors and software that will aid in public safety, crime management and flood control.
"The pipeline of companies looking at investment opportunities in GKC is fairly healthy," said Tay Hun Kiat, Chief Executive of GKC. He added that interest remains strong among the international community owing to the park’s strategic location.
The 10 new signings will increase GKC’s current 21 on-going projects and 69 commitments secured in 2012. They include a business park from Singapore’s #Ascendas.
