Stanley Chin, Managing Director – China of Portman Holdings will be involved in a panel discussion on “Capturing the long-term growth for urban renewal and community developments in Asian gateway cities” at The Real Estate Show Asia 2012 on 27 June at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Stanley Chin is responsible for all aspects of Portman Holdings’ business in China, for building and managing the team and for the profitability of the company’s operations in China. He provides leadership through preparing business strategies and annual business plans; sourcing and closing deals; working with the company’s capital team to raise capital; supervising the management, execution and exit of deals; managing, building, guiding and training the team; and doing all other tasks as necessary and appropriate in his role as Managing Director to accomplish the foregoing.
Stanley has more than 15 years of real estate and financial services experience, including 10 years focusing on real estate transactions and fund management, covering Asia Pacific and Europe. Prior to Joining Portman Holdings, Stanley was Director of Portfolio Management within Henderson’s direct property business (based in Hong Kong), where he was responsible for real estate fund management, capital raising and new business development. Earlier, Stanley was an Investment Director at HSBC and Prudential Financial, covering deal origination, acquisitions and sales, investment appraisal and project property development / management. He also worked as a Manager in the financial services and corporate finance practices at Deloitte.
Stanley graduated from the London School of Economics (“LSE”) with an MSc (Econ) and a BSc (Econ) majoring in Accounting and Finance. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Charter Holder and a Chartered Accountant (ACA). Stanley is a licensed person with the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Stanley is a Malaysian national and speaks fluent English, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and Malay. He is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Malaysian Association of Hong Kong and a Fellow Member of the Chinese Property Professionals of the United Kingdom.
