Keynote speaker – #Tyler Brule at #Real Estate Investment World Asia 2012 #conference
Tyler Brule, Editor In Chief | Founder & Chairman of Monocle | Winkreative will be the keynote speaker, sharing insights on “Deriving growth, value and new market segments with mixed-use developments on 28 June 2012 at Real Estate Investment World Asia 2012 Day Two.
Born in Canada and based in the UK, Tyler Brule began his carrer as a reporter for the BBC, before turning to print journalism where he wrote for The Guardian, Stern, The Sunday Times and Vanity Fair. In 1996, Brule launched Wallpaper*, a title that became a publishing success, going on to sell in over 50 countries. The magazine won numerous awards for its design, international relevance and use of typography, and in 2001 Brule became the youngest ever recipient of the British Society of Magazine Editors Lifetime Achievement Award. In May 2002, Brule sold his stake in Wallpaper* to focus on developing Winkreative, the full-service branding and design agency he set up in 1998. The agency is wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss parent company Winkrop AG, which Brule founded in 2002. The award-winning business is distinguished by its international focus, editorial authority and global reach. In February 2007, Brule launced Monocle’s reach includes a network of over twenty correspondents, five bureaus and an expanding mix of video and audio programming – as well as two seasonal newspapers per year. At the same time, Monocle has created a unique retail model with freestanding shops in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing and New York – along with an e-commerce site on monocle.com. In October 2011, Brule was awarded Ad Age’s ‘Editor of the Year’ trophy, and unprecendented award for an international editor. Brule is also a regular coloumnist for the Financial Times.
