#Hoteliers sees prospects as #Myanmar opens up
We have long known that Myanmar offers travellers an exotic destination, with coasts, rainforests and unblemished cultural sites. Hoteliers such as Starwoods Hotels & Resorts see great potential and prospects as Myanmar re-emerge itself from political isolation reported from CNBC Asia Pacific.
Currently, it is the Asian-based hospitality chains such as Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts that are operating in this beautiful country of Southeast Asia. Once Myanmar lefts its sanctions, I believe it will be open up to many great potential investment opportunity not only in the hospitality line but to the Asian real estate industry.
But the financial industry may want to take the “look-and-see” approach. “We’re looking at the changes very closely, but it isn’t clear yet," said StanChart’s Chief Executive Peter Sands in the interview.
