#CBA launches #Kaching as #RBA drafts surcharge changes

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has officially opened Kaching to the public on Apple’s app store. Read more here.

The app allows mobile, email and Facebook payments, as well as Near Field Communications (NFC) payments through an add-on case.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is proposing to allow card schemes such as Visa and Mastercard to limit surcharges made by the merchant.

Its consultation document, released on Friday, puts forward a variation to the surcharging Standards whereby merchants could charge fees to recover their costs, but not further.
