#Retailing industry in #Vietnam set for a game change
With Vietnam finally getting on the internet superhighway, it is changing the face of retail industry in Vietnam. So says Ms. Dinh Thi My Loan who was speaking to Vietnam News, General Secretary and Vice-Chairwomen of the Vietnam Retailer Association. She touched on how the retailers in Vietnam would now have to change to adapt to the changing consumption patterns. Retailers need to invest considerable time and money to investigate these changing social dynamics to understand how they can cater to these changes.
In order for Vietnamese companies to be successful, they need to be able to compete effectively in both brick and mortar shops and also on the online platforms. With the rate of internet access picking up steam, it would serve retail companies well to cater to this burgeoning market. Increasing connectivity coupled with a consumer confidence of 96 % according to a Nielsen survey, it seems that the retail industry in Vietnam is set for a boom.
Many Vietnamese retailers such as Metro Cash and Carry will be speaking at Retail World Asia, Asia’s only strategic event which features innovative strategies and solutions for retailers. Held from the 25 to the 27 April 2012 at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, it promises to deliver innovative solutions to all your retailing needs.
