#Singapore Greenlights the Construction of a National #NFC Infrastructure

According to NFC World, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore(@IDA_iNSG) recently awarded a major contract, for the development of an NFC infrastructure in Singapore. The contract was awarded to a consortium of organizations which includes, mobile network operator Starhub, transportation card issuer EZ-Link, DBS Bank and technology company Gemalto to pioneer this initiative.

With the creation of this NFC infrastructure, Singaporeans who sign up for these services with the respective vendors can now enjoy NFC services on their mobile phone. With the advancements in mobile technology and the high mobile consumption rate here, this consortium is keen to be the first to explore NFC options in the island state.
