RFID World Asia 2011 Organising Team: What do you plan to achieve at RFID World Asia 2011?
Mr. Secrest: Our primary goal is to connect with influential players in the RFID industry and educate them about the new capabilities that can be enabled by Ramtron’s wireless memory products. We are creating a whole new field of opportunities for our customers in this area and we want to make sure they are up to speed on what can be accomplished by using the unique features of our wireless memory devices.

We must continue to innovate. We have a robust roadmap of product features that we plan to integrate into our wireless memory products. Adding additional communication protocols and in-demand security features are among them.
Much has been said about ‘eco-friendliness’ and ‘going green’, how is Ramtron responding to this?
Our product strategy is based on groundbreaking new products in the wireless and low power nonvolatile memory arenas. Our plan is to leverage the unique low power and high performance characteristics of our F-RAM technology to create eco-friendly high memory RFID, energy harvesting, wireless sensor network, and low power medical spaces. For example, our upcoming ultra low power F-RAM memory is expected to consume 99.9% less power than our closest non-volatile EEPROM competitor. This low power advantage translates into longer battery life or more data collection opportunities in power sensitive applications like hearing aids and remote utility metering applications.
