De Beers pleasure in diamond raffle at Africa Mining Congress to honour Nelson Mandela
The Africa Mining Congress and De Beers joined the whole of South Africa yesterday in celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 94th birthday.
Mr Sakhile Ngcobo, Director at De Beers Consolidated Mines, gave great pleasure in offering a free diamond give away, at Terrapinn’s Africa #Mining Congress, in Johannesburg this week.
The give away took place in honour of Madiba, South Africa’s much loved statesman.
The diamond was won by Mabhena, Chief Mining Commissioner of Zimbabwe who was ecstatic in receiving the prize. He commented “I have no words to describe how I feel at winning the prize,”
De Beers South Africa Director, Sakhile Ngcobo added “This cut diamond was extracted from one of our operations in Limpopo, north of the country. It is a very special gem,”.
