We met  H. E. Delia Domingo Albert at the Asia Mining Congress this year, and I must say she is a truly amazing lady. Not just because of her extensive background as a diplomat, but because of the fact that she has this amazing energy and enthusiasm about her country and its mining sector.

She took time off her busy schedule to answer some questions on:

•  the role of mining in Philippines’ economy?
• how much has the mining industry evolved in the past 5 years
• what kind of investors Philippines is trying to target
• whether we are seeing more Chinese involvement in the country’s mining sector

She also ended off this interview by giving us her thoughts on what Philippines’ or in broader context, Southeast Asia’s mining industry needs to change to achieve a world class status of a established mining destination like Brazil, or even Canada.
