#Ma’aden plans $6.9bn phosphate complex
When I came across this article, I was excited to hear that Ma’aden are really ramping up their mining projects. It really puts the spotlight on the Middle East as a hot mining destination.
What is interesting about the implementation of the King Abdullah Project is that it is also planning on developing commercial, housing and educational facilities. This in turn means that mining projects on such a large scale can really contribute to the well-being of whole communities and help create jobs and better living standards.
Ma’aden is the largest mining company in Saudi Arabia and they are really setting an example to other local mining companies in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region.
I for one will certainly be keeping an eye on the developments of the $6.9 billion phosphate project.
