#Kazakhstan – Developing the country into a major resource frontier

The Kazakhstani mining industry has always attracted the eye of foreign investors especially in Europe. However, with the euro-debt crisis, Asian investors such as strategic investors like #Zijin Mining and Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) have emerged as key partners to the local mining industry.

With vast quantities of world-class base and precious minerals and metals, Kazakhstan’s mining opportunities seem vast, but as with many emerging countries, barriers to entry and risks still persist. So what role does the government play in attracting foreign investors? Are there any new policies and initiatives implemented by the local government to stimulate further development of the sector?
