#Eastplats output at #SA #mine falls

Canadian miner Eastern Platinum reported a 29% drop in third-quarter production at its Crocodile River mine in South Africa, mostly due to labour disruptions.

The company, which produces platinum group metals (PGM), such as platinum, palladium and rhodium, stated that production at the mine was 26 955 oz, compared with 37 798 oz in the year-ago period.

Eastern Platinum has assets on the western and eastern limbs of the Bushveld Complex, in Brits, Northwest Province, which holds about 80% of the world’s platinum.
