Limit imposed on fly-in workforce for #QLD #coal project #FIFO #mining
Here’s another interesting article on the contentious issue of fly-in fly-out workers, with the #Queensland Government demanding #coal miner and exporter #BHP Billiton BMA have an 80% resident workforce in the Bowen Basin.
The Coordinator General Keith Davies set this target as a condition of the government’s approval for BMA’s $4 billion Caval Ridge Mine Project, after Moranbah community protests over the BMA’s application to increase its fly-in fly-out workforce from 70 % to 100 % for Caval Ridge.
And in case you missed them, below a couple of recent blog posts about the movement of workers for resource sector jobs and fly-in fly-out labour.
