Hi there,
I downloaded your ebook: The essential guide to financial modelling. Being an expert in financial modelling myself, I wanted to see what others were doing.
Let’s be honest, the guide is less from essential. You only point out a few tricks without even explaining them completely.
Also, you have some wrong information in there. For example, when you use “data tables”, you can place the data in one sheet and the “data tables” in another sheet, as long as you use “named ranges”.
Also, the rand() formula only gives numbers between 0 and 1. That’s right. But you can use randbetween() instead and put any numbers you want.
Hope this comment will help you improve your ebook.
Thanks,
Sophie

Hi Sophie,
Many thanks for your comments. The essential guide to financial modelling ebook is designed to give beginners an introduction to some of the key concepts in financial modelling; it is not intended to be a comprehensive guide to financial modelling. As such we were unable to go into detail about each concept, but instead aimed to give readers a useful insight.
We do, however, run an online training course in financial modelling (see http://www.12hourmba.com for more details) which will explain the concepts fully, or a five-day course for anyone looking for a more comprehensive discussion.
Thanks also for your additional tips – I’m sure readers will find them useful and your help is much appreciated!
Thanks again,
Carly
