Playing to your STRENGTHS – How HRD’s can help others realize their potential.
The only way to realise your potential is to play to your strengths. This presupposes you know what your strengths are.
We may regard our strengths as our natural talents, specialist knowledge or our unique skill set. Martin Seligman, the founder of the school of Positive Psychology, has identified what he refers to as “Signature Strengths” or individual character traits. These 24 Signature Strengths are the pathway to achieving real meaning and fulfilment in and from life and apply equally to each one of us irrespective of our academic or professional backgrounds or chosen career.
The more opportunity we create to leverage our Signature Strengths the more likely we are to realise our potential. Don’t sit there wondering what you Signature Strengths may be – find out. Having identified your strengths, take every opportunity to leverage them each day both at and outside of work.
