Asia’s largest private hospital operator – Malaysia’s IHH, launches IPO
Malaysia’s largest private hospital operator IHH has announced the launch of its IPO today. As the healthcare arm of Malaysia’s state investor Khazanah Nasional, IHH has now joined the likes of KPJ Healthcare, Singapore’s Raffles Medical Group, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services and India’s Fortis Healthcare.
As noted by some analysts, it is believed that this successful IPO launch will have a positive effect on similar healthcare players in the market. Again, this healthcare IPO launch not only demonstrates the strength of Malaysia’s financial markets, but also the strength of Asia’s healthcare industry. It also shows the continued efforts by the government to shift the emphasis from public healthcare to private, in a bid to increase the quality of healthcare services provided.
