Tanzanian coal mines set to produce 1000MW
The Mchuchuma, Ludewa and Ngaka, Songea coal mines in Tanzania are set to provide around 1000MW of coal fired power over the next three years.
It’s difficult to gauge the environmental considerations for this project at the moment. For me, this is a viable project for economical reasons, however, how does this impact Tanzania’s clean energy portfolio and planning?
Also, the China “effect” is once again in play and this joint venture seems to be poised to benefit China in the long and short term.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
