Zizabona increasing #transmission capacity through SAPP

A R1.8-billion power interconnector project, Zizabona, is adding a new western leg to north-south transmission links between Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

 

PARTNERS:

Southern Africa Power Pool (SAPP)

The project is ranked as a SAPP priority project and a flagship African Union regional integration initiative.

 

Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA)

The feasibility has been funded by the DBSA.

 

The project will:

· Increase transmission capacity through the SAPP

· Increase reliability between SADC countries

· Facilitate regional power trade through the SAPP
