How Jordan plans to integrate #renewable energy into the #smartgrid

NEPCO, Jordan plans to generate 7% of its energy from renewable sources by 2015. By 2020 this is expected to rise to 10%.

In order to achieve this, significant milestones need to be met:

• Provide a legal mandate for the government and a regulatory framework for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency development

• Encourage private-sector investment in Renewable Energy

• Diversify energy sources in Jordan

• Reduce greenhouse gases

• Develop in-country expertise related to Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
