John Davidson, Managing Director at EMC Solar spoke at Clean Technology World Asia 2011 on Developing and exploiting clean energy technologies to deliver cost-effective solutions for the new carbon-sensitive world.
John has owned and operated private companies since 1982, both in Australia and in France. He has been directly involved in and lead inbound capital raising with European venture capitalists for private placements and has frequently secured underwriting agreements for capital raisings over the course of his career.
John was appointed Managing Director of Solar Sales Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s largest PV systems integrators, and a number of large installations were completed by Solar Sales while John was MD. In 2008, this company was sold to NASDAQ listed Sunpower Corporation.
John is currently engaged by EMC Solar on a full time basis to manage the Company and its affairs and he provides support to the Investee companies in his capacity as director. EMC Solar invests in the building, ownership and operation of large scale renewable energy generation infrastructure including undertaking research and development of new technology.
In 1991, John Davidson collaborated with others to prepare a report for the Energy Research and Development Corporation Australia entitled, ‘Dispersed load levelling, peak shaving and remote energy storage’. The 85 page publication focused on energy storage, the electric power plant equipment industry and fuel consumption. This paper is now catalogued and available for reference at the National Library of Australia.
