Maybank builds blocks with Legoland partnership
Malaysia’s largest bank, Malayan Banking Bhd – or #Maybank as it is commonly referred as – has signed a 5 year partnership agreement to become #Legoland Malaysia’s official retail bank.
The agreement is for the provision of an advanced electronic payment structure with an exclusivity clause that will prevent all other banks from operating on the premises of Asia’s new interactive theme park, according to a statement by President & CEO, Datuk Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.
Legoland will open in Nusajaya, Johor on September 15 and expects to welcome over one million visitors in its first year, with reportedly 45000 annual passes having already been pre-sold.
The partnership is another example of how businesses are looking to tap into retail banks large consumer bases – and Lego land General Manager Siegfried Boerst is reportedly optimistic about sales resulting from the strategic partnership.
