Robin Hood – Jailed

Citywire reported that Peter Nudd ‘Has been jailed for two years after being found guilty of stealing £80,000 from clients’ accounts and using the money to help struggling businesses repay loans’.

My heart went out to him (briefly) when I had a mental image of kind man risking his job and his reputation to prevent people losing their homes and children going hungry, but then I read The Daily Mail’s report which included the small detail that Peter Nudd also took money from customer accounts to pay for takeaways and Butlin’s holidays’ hmm not so generous and selfless anymore.

I’m sure his motivation was good nonetheless but its no wonder the authorities couldn’t just turn a blind eye, even if I was filthy rich I think I would want to choose which charity my £80k went to, rather than have someone else make that decision for me!

Anyway its nice to think that there is still a Robin Hood among us, but with a computer instead of a bow and arrow!
