INFRASTRUCTURE: How to raise funds in Peru to finance HPP projects

Krese is a player in Peru’s capital markets focused on wholesale, before they were a financial concern as a hedge fund in New York bringing in capital from Latin America.

Energia Azul, this is the “dream of a man” who wanted to develop hydro business and was able to sign an MOU with a Chinese construction company for a US$1.6bn project in Peru.

Krese prepared a fund proposal to create the project.  They knew the government of Peru might want to be a minority partner for USD$100-$200m for its pension fund.  The fund was created because the pension fund money could not be directly invested in the project.
