Are #hedge fund #investments on the rise again?
As Reuters reports, the trend of investors pulling out of hedge funds is slowly reversing. The number of exits has fallen last month, and the performance data from GlobeOps, representing about 10% of the global hedge fund industry, seems rather positive. Uncertainty in the euro zone and volatility in the markets, however, is still a threat to an industry that has in the past claimed it could outperform other investment options in both good and bad times. Given the uncertainty, it is more challenging for hedge funds to convince new investors to inject more cash. The repeal of the marketing ban through the American JOBS act might help but only if the hedge fund is based in the US. Industry forums represent another way to attract capital.
