In a recent conversation that I had with Dr Thomas Gillespie, who not too long ago had moved from the Australia Reward Investment Alliance to head up the new risk advisory service of Russell Investments, we had worked together on putting together a all-star risk management and measurement panel within our Asset Allocation Summit.

In today’s highly unpredictable, volatile markets, there’s going to be a strong re-focus towards loss minimisation and retention of capital, rather than growing your fund as quickly as possible. With such a strong lean towards risk management and measurement, it was only natural to bring this panel together.

The panel session titled “How to identify and manage fund risk in order to minimise losses in extreme circumstances” will be moderated by Glenn Langton, GCL Consulting, and new concepts and ideas brought on from Dr Thomas Gillespie, Ex Senior Portfolio Manager – Risk now Director – Risk Advisory, Russell Investments, Troy Reick, Managing Director – Capital Markets, QIC and Michael Watt, Head of Risk at VFMC.
