Have Your Say – Are Environmental Concerns Affecting Current Unconventional Operations?
In recent times, there have been several debates on unconventional operations and their impacts on the environment especially due to differences in geology, stakeholders’ concerns and key regulations.
Although in the US shale gas supplies around 25 percent of the total country’s gas demand, it has been demonstrated that chemicals used in the fracking operations are toxic and cause massive environmental damages.
Therefore, a number of bad practices in the USA have caused many debates in Europe leading to controversial policies on shale gas. On one side Poland believes that shale gas operations are safe if appropriate environmental measures are followed. On the other side, France already voted to ban shale gas drilling to protect the environment and human beings.

Let me first say that it has been “falsely” demonstrated some toxic chemicals used in fracturing wells have caused massive environmental damage. People that know nothing about the industry tell out right lies and half truths to promote their agenda and many get rich in doing so. Actually, I should say that many of these people know the shale gas industry acts very responsible in taking care of our environment but make fortunes for themselves by lying to the public at large. These scare tactics only result in costing all of us more in energy prices.
