MotionPoint Corp., a provider of website translation and globalization services based in Coconut Creek, has announced that Menlo Park, Calif.-based Riverwood Capital has made a strategic investment.
As part of the transaction, Riverwood Capital founding partners Chris Varelas and Francisco Alvarez-Demalde are joining MotionPoint’s board of directors.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
MotionPoint is known for patented technologies and proprietary processes that allow businesses to engage in new markets online, in any country and in any language.
"MotionPoint is well-positioned at the crossroads of e-commerce and globalization, which are both strong trends in today’s worldwide economy,” Riverwood Capital’s Alvarez-Demalde said. “We look forward to applying our operational expertise and network to help MotionPoint continue to dominate the website globalization and optimization industry as it expands rapidly in 2011 and beyond."
Riverwood Capital is a private equity firm that invests in high-growth businesses in the technology and services industries.
