In a recent article written by Ekaterina Walter, a social media strategist at #Intel, QR codes are literally a #marketing dream. It would seem however, that many marketers are not seizing the opportunity to take advantage of this potential. With an increasing number of users scanning QR #codes with their #mobile devices, marketers need to be constantly looking for new and inventive ways to be as creative as possible. Some key suggestions on how QR codes can be used have been given including:
· Reinventing the Shopping Experience
· Enhancing the User Experience
· Streamlining the Customer’s Visit
· Give Customers Something They Want
· Providing Real-Time Information
· Initiate Share-worthy Competitions
· Personalized Gift Giving
· Help Your Customers Grow Their Businesses
· Share Modern Day Mixtapes
A video posted on YouTube by Wasp.com also explores some inventive ways businesses can incorporate QR codes into their day to day collaterals. Having QR codes on business cards, products, as part of your social network and on company event tickets. It would appear that Incorporating QR codes in such a simple way should be an obvious move for many marketers looking to reach out to their mobilised users and clients. It still remains questionable why there seems to be such a delay – what’s all the hold up about???
