Introducing my new blog series – The Gaming Griot

When I started working on the Gaming Executive Summit 2013 in Latin America, I wanted to create a way for the audience to contextualize the speaker’s perspective. Simply put – I wanted the audience to connect with the speakers prior to the conference. But how could I accomplish this? What could I do to allow my audience a glimpse into the lives of these industry leaders? After research and letting some ideas marinate, it appeared clear as day – The Gaming Griot.

Where does Gaming Griot come from? What does Griot mean? Welp, I have the answer. Griot is a West African term for storyteller. For the next several months, The Gaming Griot will create a window into the lives of the gambling and social gaming giants. Each week, I will highlight a different speaker of the conference. This blog will tackle relevant and innovative topics concerning the market, however, we will also delve in and talk about real life experiences. From breaking into the industry to learning about the hotspots in Panama City, Panama, we will talk about it. With an industry dependent on the interaction with the player, The Gaming Griot will tell the story behind the poker table.
