Driving leads in the Social Media arena

social media In the 21st century, Social Media has become a common tool leveraged by businesses. Some have excelled in using these tools to drive leads, while others have failed miserably. It is no longer about throwing information at customers and expecting them to respond with interests. Companies jump into the bandwagon of social tools too quickly, very often failing to understand how to go about doing it and using the tools that suit their needs best. There is no standard formula to this. However, what is crucial is that companies must think of ways to spark people’s interests in their products and services, and to do so voluntarily.

The power of word-of-mouth is no secret. It has transformed how companies interact with its customers, as well as how customers interact with one another to make purchase decisions. There are six tools for consideration in developing a social media campaign. According to CRM Buyer, companies can aim to drive leads from Blogs, YouTube, include forms in Slideshare presentations, generate tweets and re-tweets that point to offers, promote offers on Facebook, and post content-related items and announcements on LinkedIn. Whatever tool (s) that companies adopt, bear in mind the necessity to insert tracking codes. Only with this will one know how influential their platforms are and how it has led to qualified leads.

Content-marketing is also a good way to generate leads. By providing relevant and interesting information to people, it will be able to attract the traffic that companies desire. Search Engine platforms such as Google has made it easy for customers to find information. In addition, the chance of a website appearing in the top few rankings is dependent on how Google view the website as being credible. As long as a company provides more relevant and useful content (e.g. eBook, videos) on its website, and is also linked from multiple sites, Google will recognise the site’s credibility.
