Apple Maps

Apple has just revealed its new mapping program, waging a war with Google.

The new iOS6 operating system for the iPhone and iPad incorporates this new mapping system which ‘covers the world’.  Incorporated in the mapping system is business listings integrated with Yelp for consumer reviews and ratings.

This is obviously a smart move by Apple, which probably should have happened the moment Google released its Android. Apple slowly began distancing itself from Google last year, through its release of the iOS4 software, no longer utilising Google as the preferred search engine through safari and began using Yahoo.

Another feature of the iOS6 is the integration of Facebook within its operating system. But we can’t help what wonder what Apple do with this if Facebook releases its rumoured phone next year.

Apple also announced the new MacBook model will see a boost in speed and memory and cost $100 less than previous versions.

The battle however still remains the same.. Apple iOS Vs. Android. Which side are you on?
