Social travel network connects travellers with locals

social networking travelAvis Muhall was a highly successful businesswoman in the world of executive recruitment in Dublin. Today, she now runs one of the more innovative social networking that connects travellers with locals.

A traveller is looking to have someone show them around town – tour guides cost a lot and most of the time – you’re seeing everything that you could’ve seen at the airport newsagent calendar section.

In comes mmMule, a social travel network that essentially connects travellers with local people that are looking for something from overseas. The local gives the traveller an “experience” in return for delivering something for them.

For example, a woman in Canada offered a tour of Toronto to whoever brought her toilet paper from Germany, or a man who runs a surf camp in France gave free accommodation and lessons to someone who could bring him English Bacon from Britain.

But its not an elaborate international courier system based on good will – rather its about making unique connections and experiences.

Perhaps even one day, brands can get in on this space, after all, isn’t unique connections and experiences what every single brand marketer is dreaming about?

Find new ways of connecting with customers by learning from the most innovative brands.
