The bad guys (another SEO rant)
Running off the back of my last blog post, I had another interesting conversation with a director of a SEO company about what it’s like to be an ethical SEO company. He says to beware of companies that guarantee instant SEO results for little to no money. It simply doesn’t work like that.
Out in the SEO universe, there are clients and potential clients out there with a string of misconceptions around certain SEO techniques, some of which, could even be illegal.
There are a few SEO companies that will turn away from these deals. These are the good guys.
Then there are those that accept them happily as well. These are the bad guys.
You can’t blame the client though - they don’t know any better. But as a client, how can you tell the difference? No salesperson is sporting a train track villain’s moustache.
Personally, the best way of knowing who to trust is the one that is giving you the hardest truths to swallow. SEO is no magic pill.
