#KONY 2012–#Invisible #Children the new #Social #Media masters
I came online on Facebook just the other day and was surprised to find that so many of my friends had a sudden passion for abducted African children rebel soldiers.
And not to say that the video wasn’t made for a worthy cause, but being a hunter for talent – it has turned from “What’s KONY?” to “How do you not know about KONY” within a matter of 48 hours. Channel 10 even aired an ad-free documentary last night (and even then they were late to the party).
Leslee Hall, who wrote a blog on SocialMediaNews.com.au attributes the campaign to “trying to make you spend your money by giving it to the Invisible Children, as simple as that.”. “What is it? It’s Viral Marketing”
Check out KONY 2012 – I doubt you haven’t already watched it.
Like I said, I’m a hunter for social media talent, make yourself known and heard at the Social Media World 2012 conference running in Melbourne on the 30th April – 1st of March.
