#Philippine Senator pushing for a bill that would increase #security
The Gulf News recently reported that the Philippines could do a lot more to improve the state of its online security. It quoted Filipino lawmaker Senator Edgardo Angara, who is on a personal crusade to increase the level of security in the Philippines. This is especially important as the internet has taken over the daily lives of the Filipinos. He plans to push two bills that aims to help to guard against online crime.
According to Senator Angara, Filipinos are increasing their cyber footprints online – from social media to e-commerce – thus necessitating the need for a government task force that will oversee cyber security in the Philippines. Furthermore, the bills will ensure that the Philippines adhere to international standards, thereby making it a more suitable place for companies looking to outsource.
