Yes – Goldie Hawn is coming to Mind & Its Potential 2010
I saw a tweet last week asking if Goldie Hawn was really coming to this year’s Mind & Its Potential conference – I’m happy to say that yes – she is coming! And I should know – Goldie called me at home one weekend recently to talk about the program and after half an hour tossing around ideas she agreed to be part of the conference – much to my delight. I first had the pleasure of meeting Goldie at our Happiness & Its Causes conference in London in 2007. Goldie had booked to attend the conference as a delegate but stepped in to speak after a last minute cancellation by a keynote speaker. Her presentation about the work she is doing with school children to improve their life skills and learning outcomes was inspiring and we’ve been trying to entice her to Australia ever since – and 2010 is the year! The Hawn Foundation, which Goldie set up, has created a curriculum for an optimistic classroom where children learn about how their brains work, how to moderate their emotions and develop their social skills and how to develop critical thinking and problem solving.
The Gala Dinner at Mind & Its Potential 2010 is in aid of the work of the Hawn Foundation – helping them to adapt the program for use in Australian schools. It will be a great night with Goldie as the after dinner speaker, delicious food, networking, music and dancing.
